Tennis Quick Tips | Fun, Fast and Easy Tennis - No Lessons Required (tennis)

Summer is here and that means playing lots and lots of tennis out in the sun. Because I want you to stay safe out there, this episode is focused on helping you have tennis fun in the summer sun.

So what are we talking about today? Today we are going to really get into sunscreen. We all know we're spending a lot of time out in the sun and we really need to protect our skin with sunscreen to not only slow the signs of aging that prolonged sun exposure can cause, but also to help reduce our risk of skin cancer. So let's talk about sunscreen - what it can do for us, what kind to use, how much to use, how often to use it and what is the best sunscreen to use when you're playing tennis and need something you can quickly apply without making a huge mess.

If you're anything like me, you're doing a variety of strength and flexibility exercises to stay injury-free so that you can play as much tennis for as long as possible. And you may be practicing hitting with proper technique not only to get better results, but also to keep injuries at bay. But have you made sure that your tennis gear is also helping you stay fit and healthy out on court? Specifically, is your tennis racquet, probably your most important piece of equipment, helping you to play better tennis or could it actually be hurting you? In this episode, we're talking about common tennis injuries that can be caused by your tennis racquet and how you can prevent those from happening to you.

We've all faced them on court - sore losers who have a list of excuses for why they aren't playing well. And gloaty winners who revel in beating us and highlighting our unforced errors and poor play. The problem with these players is that their actions seem to detract from our level of play. Sore losers seem to be telling us that it's not that we beat them with our superior tennis skills. Rather they lost because they were just having a bad day. And gloaty winners seem to be telling us that we just aren't up to their level as tennis players. So how do we deal with these sore losers and gloaty winners? In this episode of Tennis Quick Tips, I'll tell you just how I go about handling these players in my matches. And I hope it will help you to deal with them the next time you face them on court.

Roger Federer just won his 18th Grand Slam title this past week. He beat Rafael Nadal in the men's singles final of the 2017 Australian Open and I could not be more excited! I love Roger and he is truly my inspiration as far as on-court presence goes. In this episode, I'll tell the three lessons that i think you and I can learn from Roger winning his 18th Slam. Are you trying to figure out what the high-percentage shots are when you're playing doubles? If you thought there was an official list of those shots (like I did at one time), I have news for you - there's not. But there are some shots that are commonly known to be high-percentage shots for doubles, meaning they're often easy for you to hit and can set you up to win the point. In this episode of Tennis Quick Tips, I'll tell you about the three best high-percentage shots for doubles and how you can use them successfully in your next match.

When trying to perfect our tennis game, I know we all spend a lot of time hitting a lot of balls. But it's not all about your grip, or your swing path, or your follow-through. No, it turns out that what you're doing with your feet also has a big impact on how well you hit the ball. So in this episode, we're talking about the split step. Specifically, what the timing of your split step should be to help you hit the best strokes possible.
